Forever Family Day

The moment we have been waiting for.

OUR FOREVER FAMILY DAY
We are holding in our arms 2 precious little girls – Eliana and Olivia Lucas. We received our daughters at 3pm today and what an exciting time it was! It actually still feels very surreal. We weren’t sure how we’d feel at this moment but just plain excitement is the best word. Eliana fell asleep right away as she is a little sick but Olivia wanted to see the world. The girls don’t like to be set down right now so the snugglies have become invaluable very quickly!!! They love music so the lullaby music we brought and the sound of our own voices seem to sooth them. They do need all of our personal attention right now so the extra days we decided to spend in Guilin turned out to have been a wise decision as our energy reserves have been topped up.

All of our hotel rooms have been great but this one is quite large – LOTS of room. The 2 little cribs they set up for us will hopefully be successful in bringing rest to Eliana and Olivia tonight J.
The restaurant had great lunch today also so so far so good. Well we’re off to the department store to buy formula. We bought strollers and diapers earlier today.

We’ve attached some pictures for you to see our new family!

P.S. Happy Birthday Jacob, Mark and Kaleb. We hope you had a special day!!!

FRIDAY AM
It is 6:00 am and after putting the girls to bed at 8pm last night – they are still fast asleep!! Hopefully this is repeated night after night J. Of course Andrew and I didn’t sleep the same as all of their small sounds while they slept made us sleep lightly. Hopefully we’ll get used to it very soon and enjoy that long rest with them.

God is so good!!! What a beautiful family He has created before our eyes!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us and taking the time to post - we have been anxiously awaiting these first family pics!! We will continue to pray for special bonding time, safe travels, health for all, and maybe even some rest somewhere in there :0) And yes eventually you will rest through all of those heavenly little noises!! May God continue to bless!!

Andrew and Margaret,

What a beautiful sight! God bless you both and God bless your girls.

Now, do not be concerned about the noise at night thing. This will pass...at about 23, and by then you will be sleeping right through.

Stay safe the rest of the way. We're looking forward to having you back home.

Andrew you look awesome with those girls! You're a Dad!!!

Andrew & Margaret,

We've been checking the site all day and were thrilled to see this posting at last. God has been so good through this all. Glad to hear that yet another specific prayer was answered in that they slept through the night!!

Looking forward to meeting these precious girls (you'll have to tell us which one is Olivia and which one is Eliana in a future post). We're excited about continuing our prayer journey together with you upon your return!

Dear Andrew and Margaret,

Will someone please pass me a kleenex!!! At last, you're altogether. Your babies are beautiful and I think they look just like you! Can't wait to get our hands on them.

Prayers for an uncomplicated trip home. Blessings, M and M

We just got home with the boys and put them to bed - VERY tired nephews.
The girls........
What can I say? My heart feels so much. If could stop crying long enough to see the keys, I could type. I am SO-O-O proud of you Mags. I am SO-0-0 proud of you Andrew. And the girlies....O the little girlies...what precious, precious blessings....straight from the heart of God. We wait here for you. We wait here for the babies. We pray the kiss of Heaven upon you. We pray the favour of God wrapped about each of you like a shield. How we love you guys. How we love you, Olivia and Eliana. Come back home to us safely.

Hi,

What an amazing site to see you and your new family. Incredible!

The pictures and updates are excellent. It sounds like you have had a very good trip so far with good accomodation and flights.

An air conditioned tour bus for just 7 of you is definitely going in style!

Can't wait to see your new family in person.

P.S. Don't get used to the girls sleeping all night. That is likely to change :)
